Who i am
hi! My name is Jocelyn Miller, and I am the founder of Cherry Blossom Farms. I was born in Harrisonburg, Virginia, in August 2000, and grew up in Grottoes, VA. Growing up, I always had a knack for animals; I was always drawn to them. I started raising and rescuing animals in 2014. In 2020, I started getting into animals. I had a few chickens and a few bunnies, then I got some ducks shortly after. I was in a horrible car accident about a year later, after suffering from 6 months of severe mental trauma from a bad relationship, and the near loss of my job, which sank me into a severe depression. The only thing that got me out of that was my animals; they needed me, and I needed them. I got a puppy not long after getting out of that funk, started really learning about animals, and fully embraced my little farm. I launched my official farm page in March 2022. At the time, I had only a few breeds of chickens and ducks, and I had just started my pedigreed Holland Lops. I moved to Waynesboro, VA, in March of 2023, to a friend’s 6-acre farm, where the farm quickly grew into what it is today.
Here at Cherry Blossom Farm, we strive to breed healthy, friendly animals, registered and unregistered. Conveniently located in a lovely little town named Waynesboro, Virginia. We breed pedigreed Netherland Dwarfs, Holland Lops, and English Lops. We breed non-Vienna, Vienna-marked, and white-eared here in almost every color. all 3 rabbit breeds can make excellent pets, or, depending on their quality, perfect rabbits for other rabbitries’ breeding programs. Registered and non-registered pure Nigerian dwarf goats and mini alpines with flash and great genetics. We will be selling goat milk soap in likely starting in summer 2026! Our goats are bottle-raised and can be polled, disbudded, or horned. We personally do not disbud our goats. I feel strongly about this, as the disbudding process is not gentle or kind to the babies. The thought of putting a scorching-hot iron on a living creature's head gives me the ick! We have standard Ameracauna in chocolate, muave, lavender, blue, black, and wheaton/splash in all of those varieties. We breed bantam cochins in all of the same colors, with the addition of buff. We also breed Easter Eggers and other mixed bantam varieties for poultry. We breed Large fowl ducks in the varieties Ancona, silver Appleyard, Swedish, and Welsh harlequin. We also raise collies! We raise rough collies and pure old-type Scottish collies. We have rough coats only at this time, but we will be adding a smooth coat rough collie, likely in 2027. Our collies are all fully health-tested to CHIC standards, and we will only breed for fully clear genetics to continue improving the breed. I do not show currently, but will likely start showing in 2027. We also plan to breed quarter horses starting in 2029, as well as mini cattle, hoping to have my first calf in 2027. Those will both be very small scale, likely only one foal and one calf a year. I will update the website if we are certain those are the routes we plan to pursue. Right now, they are only thoughts.
